    Confirm pickup location in Toronto

We collect from downtown, Yorkville, the Distillery, Pearson, or anywhere in the 416/647. Departure is typically 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. for a golden-hour arrival at the first estate.

  4. 04

    Ride the Bench

We drive Niagara Stone Road, stop for the light, see the escarpment ridge, and return to Toronto by 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. depending on lunch length and a quiet final stop.

No. 07 Letters from Readers
Adrien knew which Riesling the owner was bottling before we even asked. The route avoided traffic we didn't know existed. Best Saturday we've spent in wine country.

No. 09 Questions & Answers

What readers usually ask.

What's included in the flat rate?

Vehicle, driver, 6–8 hours on the road, route design, sommelier commentary, and navigation to three wineries and lunch. Winery tastings and meal costs are separate; tipping the sommelier driver is customary (15–20%).

Can I choose which wineries we visit?

Yes. Tell us your preference (Riesling-only, Cabernet estates, ice-wine focus, or small-producer Pinot Noir houses) and we’ll design the day around those. Peak-season requests (July–October) book 3–4 weeks ahead.

How much does it cost?

A fixed all-day rate starts at $680 (sedan) and scales with vehicle class and party size. Exact quote depends on your date, group headcount, and any special requests. Email Adrien for a binding proposal—no per-seat pricing, no hidden surcharges.

What if we want to stay longer at one winery or skip another?

The itinerary is a guide, not a lock. You set the pace; Adrien adjusts. Most groups spend 90 minutes at their favorite estate and 45 minutes at others.

Do we need to book wine tastings in advance?

Not essential, but Saturday tasting slots at top estates fill by 11 a.m. We can pre-call and hold a reservation at your chosen houses, or you can email them directly. Tasting fees average $20–40 per person.

What about lunch? Is that booked?

We suggest three restaurants; you choose. Clos Fontaine (French bistro, on the lake) and Backhouse (casual, NOTL main street) are standards. We’ll call ahead if you want a table, or you can walk in. Lunch is 75–90 minutes.

Can we do this tour in other seasons?

Yes. Spring (May–June) is light and green; fall (September–October) is peak harvest color and crowds; winter ice-wine season (November–February) adds a different winery circuit. Summer (July–August) is busiest and most expensive—book early.

What if weather is bad?

We operate year-round. Winter roads are maintained and traction is excellent in a modern sedan or SUV. Ice-wine tours often book in January/February. Call Adrien if you’re concerned about road conditions—he’ll advise honestly.

Is the driver familiar with all the wineries?

Adrien has worked these roads for 14 years. He knows the owners, the seasonal releases, and which estate has the best view of the escarpment at 4 p.m. Not every driver on this route has that depth.

Can we book a multi-day tour (Niagara + Buffalo or Niagara + Toronto brewery crawl)?

Yes. We’ve combined Niagara wine with Distillery District brewery tours and Niagara Falls sightseeing for out-of-towners. Quote on request.

Plan a Saturday on the Bench from the lake to the escarpment.
